NT’s Barkly Region welcomes new diverse council

In November of last year, the Northern Territory’s Barkly Region elected Sid Vashist as the new Mayor, after a long period of administration

The region had been without a council since October of 2023, after the dismissal of all former elected members following an investigation which found widespread failures across the organisation. 

Now, the Barkly region has a new council with diverse councillors across the board.
