One Trillion Tonne Iceberg Breaks off Antarctic

A one trillion tonne iceberg has broken off from the Larsen C Ice Shelf, forever changing the shape of the Antarctic Peninsula. This much anticipated calving event reduces the area of the existing ice shelf by more than 12%. Dr Duanne White from the University of Canberra joined us on The Daily to discuss what this event means for the Larsen C Ice Shelf, and other ice shelves in the region.
