Paramedics and Nurses Facing Violence Crisis

 

NSW Healthcare workers went on strike last Thursday demanding that the state government protect them from the ongoing violence they face from patients and their family members in the workplace.

The Health Services Union is requesting the government provide hospitals across the state with an additional 250 security guards immediately. But other industry voices are calling for further, long-term action.

Julia Andre spoke with paramedic and Health Services Union representative Jason Kirklay on the dangers he faces on the job.
