Today is Parental Alienation Awareness Day, with an interesting story behind it.

Parental alienation is a situation in which one parent uses strategies — sometimes in a form of  brainwashing, alienating, or programming — to distance a child from the other parent.

One mother’s search for answers kept leading her offshore to American and UK studies.

But she found that hardly anyone in Australia knew what parental alienation was, let alone help those affected by it.
