Passport Pandemonium hits Sydney Airport

SmartGate machines at Melbourne and Sydney airports experienced an outage yesterday, with systems failing to identify travellers. The Australian Border Force was required to revert to manual processing of passports, with delays up to two hours for inbound and outbound travellers. Dr Julia Prior, Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney, joined us this morning to offer her knowledge on the failed systems.
