Peter Smeeth – 2017 Packing Room Prize Winner

The Archibald Prize is Australia’s favourite art award, with it being awarded to the best portrait painting of the year. Artist Peter Smeeth has won this year’s Packing Room Prize, which is judged by the staff of the Art Gallery of NSW who unpack and hang the finalists for the Archibald Prize. Smeeth, who’s portrait of a reclining Lisa Wilkinson joined us on the Daily to discuss his entry.
