Phonk Music on TikTok

Depending on what side of TikTok you’re on, you might have come across videos with phonk music playing in the background. Phonk music has a bassy-hip-hip sort of feel and is used in lots of edits, including your favourite Harry Spotter and workout memes.

Dr Andy Ward, a Senior Lecturer in Music, School of Business, and Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast gave us a deep-dive on everything phonk in this morning’s interview.
