Are plants the answer for renewable fuels?

As the rational thinkers of the world try to look beyond traditional fossil fuels for the future, one particular branch of study is producing some remarkable fruit. Research into artificial photosynthesis from Monash University has suggested a way to produce hydrogen for energy with a high efficiency rate and no harmful side-emissions. Could the fundamental process of plants be the future of energy? Nic Healey chats with Shannon A. Bonke, Doctoral Researcher in the School of Chemistry at Monash University, to discuss its ramifications.
