Prince and the Pauper: Love across class

Picture Disney classic Aladdin, a poor young street boy falls in love with a beautiful princess… a romantic fairytale. However, cross-cultural dating becomes a little more complex in the real world. Dr Eve Vincent and Dr Rose Butler recently undertook research through eleven interviews with members of six cross-class couples. For these couples, love across class is an everyday reality and the differences are sometimes subtle, sometimes striking. Fill in Drive presenter, Mark Pitman, spoke with Dr Eve Vincent about the complexities and joys of cross-cultural dating.
