Proposal to build Tesla factory met with community backlash

A reserve in the southern suburbs of Adelaide has been earmarked by Marion City Council as a proposed development site for a Tesla battery-repurposing factory and showroom.

A Community Feedback Report has highlighted strong opposition to the development from the local community. Despite concerns, the council voted 8:3 to revoke the community title attached to the land, referring the project to the Malinauskas government for approval.

Yesterday, community members gathered, calling the Council to reconsider.
