Psychological Support Programs for Kids in War Zones

Aid agency Save the Children has called for Australia and other developed nations to increase mental health programs available to children living in conflict

In their “Road to Recovery” report, the agency documented 7 millon children currently living in war zones around the world, with only 0.14 per cent of international aid going to mental health programs.

Increased support can ultimately minimise the risk of serious mental health problems for children in these zones of conflict who are exposed to death, violence and destruction on the daily.

Breakfast spoke with Nadine Haddad, Senior Humanitarian Adviser at Save the Children
