QPC recommendations concerns disability and housing advocates

This week, the Queensland Productivity Commission is pushing to opt out of the National Construction Code’s Liveable Housing Design Standard.

The standard allows Australians with a disability and with an accessibility need to add simple features for a better quality of life and improve safety.

Advocates and organisations are concerned this recommendation will set Queensland a step backwards for accessibility.
