Religious Discrimination Bill

On Thursday December 13, the Morrison government unveiled its plans for the implementation of a Religious Discrimination Act.

The legislation acts a response to the findings of the 2017 Ruddock Report into religious freedom, as the PM announced “If you support a multicultural Australia, you’ll be a supporter of religious freedoms.”

This morning on Breakfast Tess was joined by Anja Hilkemeijer, lecturer in law at the University of Tasmania, to dissect what this actually means and the possible implications of this new law.
