Reviving Endangered Indigenous Languages

Here in Australia, we’re home to more than two hundred and fifty Indigenous language groups. But there are some languages at risk of dying out. Over time, words are lost, never to see the light of day again. But just recently, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies held a two-week workshop to support Indigenous people in reviving and strengthening their languages.

Caroline Hughes is the Director of the Yurauna Center at Canberra Institute of Technology, who was at that workshop and joined The Daily to talk more about this topic.
