Revolutionary treatment for Breast Cancer patients

If you had access to a 3D printer what would you print? A Cup… A lego piece… How about a scheffold made of biomaterial that allows surgeons to use patient-specific 3D printed implants laced with anti-cancer chemotherapy for implantation after mastectomy for breast cancer patients. It sounds like something from a futuristic sci-fi novel but at the Queensland University of Technology it could soon be a reality!

World-leading personalised medicine research is being led by QUT’s Professor Dietmar Hutmacher and he joined us this morning to explain some more.
