Castaway: How a single pregnant rodent floating on driftwood lead to the colonisation of rodents in Australia

I know it sounds like the drunk ravings of a mad man watching Castaway on a friday night but new research suggests that a single pregnant rodent floating on a piece of driftwood on the waters between Asia and New Guinea may have led to the colonisation of native rodents in Australia.

 

Breakfast presenter had a chat to Emily Roycroft, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ANU about rodents on rafts.
