Saving The Australian Sea Lion

The Australian sea lion is one of the many beautiful creatures that call our island nation home.

Found nowhere else in the world the Australian Sea Lion is one of the rarest sea lion species on the planet, with years of hunting and environmental decline pushing them to endangered status.

But there is hope for the species, with researchers working tirelessly to understand and save the remaining populations – such as the colony that lives on Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia.

To find out more about this incredible animal and the work being done to save it we were  joined by Dr Rachael Gray, Senior Lecturer Veterinary Pathology from The University of Sydney
