Are Shark Nets Necessary?

Shark attacks are a tragedy, but the implementation of shark nets around NSW to prevent them have proved controversial. The state government maintains that these nets are necessary. However, some experts and members of the public have expressed concerns that the nets are ineffective and are needlessly endangering sharks themselves. 2SER’s Max Grieve spoke to several Sydney experts to find out more.
