South Australia is gripped by an energy crisis. Following on from the power crisis in Tasmania when the link to Victoria also went down, how viable is it for neighbouring states to rely on brown coal based electricity in Victoria, particularly if we are intending to reduce our emissions?

The Grattan Institute recently completed a study on South Australia’s problems with soaring electricity prices resulting from the outage on the seventh of July, On The Money spoke with Tony Wood who joint authored the report.

Features: Tony Wood, Energy Program Director and joint author of the report “Keeping the lights on: Lessons from South Australia’s power shock”.
