Spider silk- the future for synthetic materials?

Which spider has the strongest web? How do you even test spider silk strength? And will bullet-proof vests be made of spider webs in the future? On her second day driving the Tuesday Breakfast ship Tess chatted with Genevieve Kerr, Researcher for University of the Sunshine Coast, about her studies on Golden-Orb Weaving Spiders. Their silk web has huge technological potential, and researchers are working on harvesting it to create synthetic materials.
