Staying Young with North Arm

Stay Young is the 4th album by North Arm, a band primarily based around the sound and vision of Roderick Smith.

If Roderick didn’t discover an old, dusty guitar in his sister’s cupboard at age 11, life may have taken a completely different turn.

The Newcastle-raised songwriter spent most family holidays with an old guitar in the sleepy coastal town of North Arm Cove. The melodies that slowly emerged from that time came to define his sound, and what a sound it is, meditative indie folk with an endlessly inventive art-rock and pop aesthetic.

Rod from North Arm joined 2SER Breakfast to chat about the new album, the friends and collaborators that helped bring it to life and how that car on the cover is indeed KITT from Knight Rider.
