Steven Spielberg Believes Netflix Movies Should Not Be Up For Oscar Consideration

You might have noticed, as less and less people head to the cinemas to watch anything except the latest blockbusters, more people are headed to streaming services for older films and original programming. Famed director, Steven Spielberg had made comments suggesting that movies made directly by Netflix should not be eligible for Oscar nominations.

The prolific director has said that “if it’s a good show, it deserves an Emmy. But not an Oscar”. To explore this, The Daily was joined by Cameron Williams, a writer and film critic.
