Study suggests last five dolphins in captivity in NSW should be kept in a ‘sea-pen sanctuary’

There are only 5 dolphins left in captivity in NSW, and they call Coffs Harbour’s Dolphin Marine Magic tourist park home, but it’s well-known that keeping these mammals captive has negative effects on their health and wellbeing. Despite this, experts are wary of releasing these dolphins straight back into the ocean with a study suggesting that they should be placed in a ‘sea-pen sanctuary’. The Daily’s Nathaniel Keesing was joined by Hannah Tait, Public Engagement Officer at Action For Dolphins, to find out why.
