Could Sydney hospitals be adding fire to the war on superbugs?

A Sydney hospital has been found to be undermining the fight against superbugs by administering restricted antibiotics without approval. Royal North Shore Hospital prescribed 9,000 doses of antibiotics without approval from January to May this year. The hospital has also been failing to swab all of its wards once a month under infection control protocol, with only one ward swabbed every three months.
