Texas Cold Snap Halts US Oil Production

A violent Cold Snap in Texas has taken a fifth of the US’ oil refining capacity offline. As a result of this, and as electricity and natural gas lines remain down across the state, oil prices have started to sky-rocket.

Gabriella Monteiro asked Macquarie University Professor Lurion De Mello how a touch of frost managed to wipe a 5th of production off the map.
