The 2025 FrogID Week Hops into Sydney!

From bustling city balconies to vast outback stations, the unique croaks, chirps and peeps of Australia’s frogs form a vital chorus in our ecosystem. Everyone is encouraged to tune in and help protect these precious amphibians by taking part in the 8th Annual FrogID Week, running from Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Organised by the Australian Museum, FrogID is the world’s biggest frog count, a landmark citizen science project that has already amassed over 1.3 million frog records and been instrumental in the scientific discovery of 13 new Australian frog species. This year, the focus isn’t just on counting frogs, but on actively helping them by creating frog-friendly spaces in our own backyards. We sat down with Nadiah Roslan, biologist from the Australian Museum Herpetology team and Project Coordinator of FrogID, to discuss the simple steps we can all take to make a difference and how to get involved in this year’s frog count.
