The cost of rehabilitation

Families of people living with substance abuse are seeking help from private rehabilitation centres and paying up to tens of thousands of dollars to secure a bed. More than 32,000 Australians are looking for rehabilitation centres with only two-thousand beds available in the public sector. Families are out of options, as many private clinics avoid medical administration by not offering medical treatment, instead offering a room with counselling.
