The Gender Pay Gap in Women’s Soccer is Real

The Women’s World Cup is underway with a lot of attention being focused on the enormous gender pay gap experienced by not only the winners, but also their clubs.
FIFA set aside US$30 million in total prize money for this year’s women’s tournament, whilst last year, the men’s pool totaled US$400 million.

The Daily’s Alexandra James spoke about this disparity with Keith Rathbone, professor of Modern History and Sports History at Macquarie University.
