The In’s and Out’s Of Hoarding Disorder

It’s easy to allow the clutter to build up around the house, for boxes of old photographs to stack up, and junk to stockpile in closets and garages. People might joke that they’re “a bit of a hoarder”, but there’s a critical difference between holding on to things and compulsive hoarding. Severe hoarding disorders often render living space unusable, unsafe and un-hygenic, and to unpack some of the causes and treatment we spoke to Jessica Grisham, an Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales School of Psychology.
