The never-ending debate about Western Sydney Infrastructure

In this year’s federal budget funding for national infrastructure is expected to increase by $25 billion, from last year’s target of $75 billion.

Western Sydney is a big focus; a North-South Rail Link is in development, costing the government $3.5 billion. Roadwork packages are also in action.

But, will projects like this solve Sydney’s renowned congestion issue and distribute equal job concentration?

Bella Filacuridi spoke to the Director of the Centre for Western Sydney at Western Sydney University, Phillip O’Neill, to explore the concerns of urban growth steering infrastructure.
