The untold stories of Australia’s veterans

Most of us are aware of the lives our soldiers lived during combat and the trials they faced, but have you ever thought about what they did after discharge? What lives did our veterans live after the stories we have heard? Well, we have the answers to those questions.

The exhibition Beyond Service: Veterans’ New Journeys at the Anzac Memorial in Sydney follows Australian veterans as they navigate life after combat. Telling us more, we have the artist and veteran Hugh Semple joining Eleanor Godley on the Friday Daily.

Hugh Semple is the 2025 Artist in Residence at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park.

Entry to the exhibition is free, and runs until January 31st 2026.
