Geoff and Tess unpack all the stories making headlines this week in The Weekly Wrap.

Starting the week on a sad note, on Monday it was reported flammable liquid was thrown into a fire pit causing a home explosion in Northern Newcastle.

One of the more positive headlines of the week, is musical icon Cher announced she’s returning to Australia for her first national tour in a decade.

Onto the major story of this week: on Wednesday the 2018 Budget was revealed. Despite major criticisms, Australian Treasurer Scott Morrison has said tax cuts are going to benefit most Australians.

And despite the Catholic church being one of the richest institutions in the world, The Catholic Weekly have begun a crowdfunding page to support Cardinal George Pell’s legal costs.
