Thousands of sheep stranded off Perth coast

The Australian Government’s “bloody disgraceful” indecision on the MV Bahijah, stranded off Perth’s coast, has sparked anger and frustration.

The live export ship, carrying 16,000 sheep and cattle, intended for the Middle East, has been docked for over a week. A proposed reroute to avoid the Red Sea was rejected, leading to the ship’s return to Australia.

We discuss the situation with John Hassell, President of the Western Australia Farmer’s Federation, and Dr. Suzanne Fowler, Chief Science Officer of the RSPCA, spotlighting the Government’s negligence and failure to adhere to contingency plans in live exports.
