Today is the winter solstice, and you should be celebrating

June 21st, precisely 8:07pm, marks winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Described as an astronomical phenomenon, the winter solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year, and it has a rich history of celebration. To tell us more about the winter solstice, we were joined on Breakfast by Fred Watson from the Australian Astronomy Observatory.
