Treaty in Vic… and what it could mean for NSW

Victoria has become the first state in the country to enter into a Treaty with First Nations peoples.
The Treaty follows decades of determined advocacy from First Nations communities and is a historic moment, not only for the state, but for the whole of Australia.
Now there are renewed calls for NSW to follow Victoria’s example. Gomeroi and Biripai woman, and Justice and Equity Centre Solicitor, Emma Bastable joined 2SER Breakfast to explain why this is such an important moment.
To support, be sure to check out the NSW Treaty Commission and your local land council.
