Water Plumes On Jupiter’s Moon

Where there is liquid water, there may be life. For years, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration has been searching for evidence of plumes of water from Jupiter’s smallest moon, Europa. And now they think they’ve found it. After re-analyzing data from a 1997 flyby of Europa by the Galileo Jupiter probe, NASA has good reason to believe that a plume of water from the icy surface gushed forth into space.

To figure out what this means, we talked to Jonathan Horner, professor of astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland.
