We Intend To Cause Harmony – WITCH Returns!

Once upon a time, WITCH (We Intend To Cause Havoc) ruled Zambia, blowing the minds of a generation with their radical sounds.

When WITCH formed in the 70’s, Zamrock wasn’t just music, it was rebellion; a sonic renaissance and a radical act of self-definition, funnelled through fuzz pedals, sweat, and spirit. Drawing from psychedelic rock, garage funk, blues, and traditional Zambian rhythms, it was raw and unpredictable, both primal and futuristic.

In 2025, WITCH return, the iconic ensemble is survived by Jagari Chanda and Patrick Mwondela who came back after decades in obscurity following a documentary and brilliant comeback album. Now on a roll with a phenomenal new album Sogolo and forthcoming local shows at the City Recital Hall on Tuesday 18 November, 2SER Breakfast was honoured to welcome Jagari and Patrick to the show, to confirm that in 2025, WITCH Intend To cause Harmony.
