What Bird’s Nests Teach Us About Waste

It’s not often thought about, but bird’s nests are a pretty wondrous thing. Intricately woven and completely unique to each species… But have you ever thought about what they can tell us about humans’ relationship to the environment? A recent study has analysed hundreds of bird’s nests that date back almost 200 years… and it’s shown some fascinating results. To tell us all about it, Dr Kathy Townsend – Senior Lecturer in Animal Ecology at the University of the Sunshine Coast joined the Thursday Daily’s Toby Hemmings.
