When trying to report on the disappearance of Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai, the CNN feed quickly went to the colour bar, the current way China blocks media.

China state controlled media has provided some pictures and even a telephone call with IOC President Thomas Bach in the last couple of weeks since she outed former Vice Premier Zhang for alleged sexual assault, but many analysts remain unconvinced.
