When the Camera Stopped Rolling – Sydney Film Festival 2021

The Sydney Film Festival kicked off last week and continues this week. There are still many amazing films to see, including When the Camera Stopped Rolling, a documentary about director Lilias Fraser’s life, career, and relationship with her daughter. 

 

The documentary also portrays the challenges Fraser faced as a female director in a male-dominated film industry. It was written and directed by Fraser’s daughter, Jane Castle, who also completed the cinematography. Jane joined Willy Russo on Breakfast this morning to talk about this deeply personal project.
