Why is there stigma around stay at home dads?

A few weeks ago, one of Japan’s top ministers, Koizumi, took paternity leave. And yes, this made the headlines. Even though father’s are just as entitled to parental leave as mother’s, stats are showing that there is still stigma around men taking leave. But why is this so? And why do we continue to question the young dad’s who pick their children up from school at 3pm or the ones who stay at home? To answer these questions and more we had Associate Professor Duygu Yengin from the University of Adelaide.
