Why political parties post memes

Have you been scrolling through your Facebook feed lately and come across a political meme? It’s not unlikely, given that political meme pages are getting more likes and reactions than ever. Whether you’re a greens supporter, a conservative liberal, a communist or anything in between, there are memes for all sides of the political spectrum.

But what’s the point? Why do these pages post political memes? And what makes a good meme anyway?
