Wine Chat: Microbes in the vineyard

This week we’re amongst the vines, and taking out our magnifying glass to look at the microbes we can find in the vineyard. From the creatures in the soil, to the air around us and the vines themselves the microbiology of a vineyard is complex and unique to each site.
To take us through this microscopic journey we are joined as always by BSC: Wine Science student Cal Lee
Wine of the Week
2024, Majama, Inzolia, Hunter Valley, N.S.W.
Rojer Rathod is one of the most exciting emerging winemakers in N.S.W. Working with the indigenous Sicilian grape Inzolia, the wine is mineral with a citrus blossom bouquet and a bright acidity. Pairs great with scallops and shellfish. Drink now or cellar for 5 years, definitely a winemaker to watch.
