All About Women Festival: Pickled Vegetables & Feminism

With the All About Women Festival coming up on March the 4th at Sydney Opera House, talks and ideas of the feminist persuasion are gonna be coming in hot by our harbour.

Alex Elliot-Howery, co-owner of Cornersmith Cafe in Marrickville and Annandale, as well as a Picklery in Marrickville, is going to be bringing something fresh, or rather, pickled, to the table. She’s part of the festival’s lineup and will be holding a pickling workshop titled ‘Lets get picklin.’ Which begs the question: pickled vegetables & feminism- where do the two intersect? She joined The Daily to talk about her workshop, and how Alex feels pickling and sustainability interplay with ideas of empowerment and feminism.
