Women’s long-acting reversible contraceptives have come leaps and bounds over the last 50 years. Recently the ABC’s 7:30 program revealed how women were suffering from horrific side effects when they used IUDs, mirenas and implanons. But is this the whole story? Dr Danielle Mazza, Chair of General Practice at Monash University recommends women research the contraceptive that is right for them by speaking to their GP or heading to your state’s family planning centre.
